A kindred soul, one of the most beautiful people you would ever meet, gifted me a gorgeous Japanese Maple for my shower gift when my son was about to be born, over 6 years ago.
This thoughtful gift was right up my alley. No amount of diapers would have been as cool as this gift.
Summer of the Suitcase
This summer, we’ve decided to camp more than ever before, basking in mother nature and the bounty she provides. It is a supremely awesome and unexpected part of my adult life I am beyond happy about, proud of, and grateful for this opportunity to take time with my family and friends.

The need for nothing.
As I sip on my delightful glass of wine, exhausted and overwhelmed with life, I start to realize the majority of things I am exhausted and overwhelmed by I have totally brought on myself. I’m not talking about the givens like..work, care for my children, feed the family, pay bills, and keep a somewhat put together house (I’m really bad at that last part). Why you shouldn’t give your kids pouch foods
In my field of nutrition, I see a lot of parents giving their children convenience foods. Let’s face it, we all like to push the easy button when we are busy. I know a lot of children who eat pouch foods regularly, and some upwards of 4 or more per day! If you purchase pouches regularly, this post may offend you. I’m prepared for that, but my heart is in the right place. If you give your child pouches regularly, I want to encourage you to give your child more variety from whole foods (versus pouches), and please read this post with an open mind.
